Microgrants of up to $2,000, in combination with in-kind donations and guidance/mentorship, are available to businesses within the five boroughs of New York City. The microgrants will serve as a way to support NYC businesses as they transition to more sustainable waste management practices and to develop a cohort of diverse business types that can demonstrate best management practices to the larger NYC business community. Applications are due no later than by 5:00pm on Monday, January 8th, 2018.
Proposals will be accepted from NYC businesses who are working to divert their organic waste for beneficial use or wish to get started. Some qualifications include:
- Must have 25 or fewer employees or earn net less than $500,000 per year
- Must be located within the five boroughs of New York City
- Priority is given to businesses that provide proof of the greatest long-term benefit to their operation
Applicants will have an opportunity to ask application specific questions to our Advisory Committee members during the two advisory periods listed below:
- December 4th - 11th
- January 2nd - 8th
