Zero Food Waste Challenge

May 23 2019 | 6-9pm
Brooklyn Navy Yard Building 77

New York City businesses throw away more than 650,000 tons of food waste annually. But chefs know that food scraps are not garbage. Restaurant trim can be used to feed people and animals, nourish soil, grow healthy food, and create energy.

Talented chefs will be creating the ultimate “zero food waste” dish for the 2019 Food Waste Fair. Each dish must incorporate an “upcycled” ingredient of the chef's choice. The winner will be chosen by a panel of food industry experts, based on creativity, taste, presentation, and most importantly, waste diversion.

Tickets will go on sale in April.

All excess food will be rescued by our charity partner, Rethink Food NYC.
