We welcome exhibitors that will provide businesses with the tools, services, and guidance needed to start and grow food waste management practices that meet NYC regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Sustainable Waste Management - donation and recovery services, tracking and analytics, employee training, waste auditing and brokerage services, financing

  • Operations - on-site composting and anaerobic digestion, pre-treatment equipment, haulers, as well as containers, compostables and other supplies

  • Products - food-from-scraps catering and products, animal feed solutions

  • Promotion and Public Affairs - marketing, regulatory compliance, policy advocates, trade and professional associations


Innovation Corner by Closed Loop Partners

Closed Loop Partners welcomes early stage companies with innovative food waste solutions to apply to exhibit in the "Innovation Corner." Booth fees for up to 3 selected exhibitors will be generously covered by Closed Loop Partners.

Requirements for Innovation Corner - In addition to requirements below, exhibitors must:

(1) offer an innovative use of technology, new business model or new product that enables businesses to prevent, reduce or recycle food waste;

(2) offer a solution, tool, or service that is available and legally permitted for use in commercial establishments in New York City who are required to or would like to implement a successful food waste management program; and

(3) have 25 or fewer employees OR $500,000 or less annual revenue 


Exhibitor Requirements and Information

Before purchasing an exhibitor booth, please ensure that your business or organization meets the following requirements. Our goal is to provide New York City businesses with the tools they need to implement a successful food waste management program that complies with all relevant laws and regulations.  Exhibitor applications will be vetted for regulatory compliance.  If you have questions or are unsure whether your business or organization is eligible to exhibit, please contact info@nycstrongest.org.

General Information:

  • Exhibitor ticket will include one 8' x' 8' exhibitor space, one 8' table and linen, two chairs.

  • Potential exhibitors should be companies or businesses in good standing that offer a solution, tool, or service for New York City businesses who are required to or would like to implement a successful food waste management program.

  • All potential exhibitors will be asked to provide the materials they intend to distribute in advance of the NYC Food Waste Fair for review. Potential exhibitors who plan to demonstrate a product should be prepared to demonstrate such product upon request of the Foundation for New York’s Strongest.

  • Exhibitors are only eligible for a refund if event organizers are notified at least 30 days before the event.

  • The NYC Department of Sanitation and the Foundation for New York’s Strongest do not endorse or represent any of the exhibitors participating in the NYC Food Waste Fair. Additionally, participation in the NYC Food Waste Fair does not in any way represent an agreement with the NYC Department of Sanitation or the City of New York nor will participation in the NYC Food Waste Fair give the potential exhibitor special access to any City, Department of Sanitation or Foundation for New York’s Strongest official and no preferential treatment will result from participation in the NYC Food Waste Fair.

Consultant and Broker Requirements:

  • Demonstrated sustainability, food systems, and/or waste-related focus.

  • Preferred vendors will have experience working to prevent, recover, and/or recycle food waste in New York City.

  • If offering broker services, must be licensed by the Business Integrity Commission.

Computer Application Requirements:

  • Demonstrated sustainability, food systems, and/or waste-related focus.

Tools, Technology, and Equipment Requirements:

Compostable Bags, Packaging, and Product Requirements:

Trade Association Requirements:

  • Represents professionals and/or enterprises working in sustainability, food systems, and/or waste-related fields.

Nonprofit Requirements:

  • Has a sustainability, food systems, resource conservation, and/or waste management-related mission.

  • Preferred nonprofit vendors will have experience working to prevent, recover, and/or recycle food waste in NYC

Recycler and Processor Requirements:

  • Holds valid permit(s) and/or registration(s) with appropriate state regulators.

  • Processes organic waste for beneficial use (e.g. compost, biogas production, animal feed, etc.).

  • Preferred exhibitors will operate a facility within 100 miles of NYC or have a relationship with in-city haulers and/or transfer stations.

  • Preferred exhibitors that manufacture compost will produce finished compost that meets or exceeds the US Composting Council’s Seal of Testing Assurance program requirements.
