New York State Energy Research and Development Authority Funds Analysis on Benefits of Food Waste

Funded by the NYSERDA with analysis produced by Industrial Economics, NYS has proposed a requirement for large food waste generators to divert their food waste from landfills by donating, composting, or creating energy that will lesser carbon emissions. By diverting food scraps away from landfills, $15-$22 million dollars will be returned back to the state. To download the full report click here.
